A Pastor of one of the Pentecostal churches in Delta has been arrested
by the Police at a cemetery at a notorious village known as Ozoro in the
state, while performing rituals acts together with a teenage girl.
The Pastor has been identified as Oro Oboreh of Christ Freedom Family. He was arrested alongside a 14-year-old teenage girl, Chioma Praise on July 30, 2015, at about 10.30pm in the night, by a police surveillance patrol team from Ozoro division, while on routine patrol.
The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP
Celestina Kalu, said in a statement on Saturday in Asaba, the Delta
State capital, that the Pastor was arrested by detectives acting on a
tip-off.The Pastor has been identified as Oro Oboreh of Christ Freedom Family. He was arrested alongside a 14-year-old teenage girl, Chioma Praise on July 30, 2015, at about 10.30pm in the night, by a police surveillance patrol team from Ozoro division, while on routine patrol.
The DSP was quoted by Daily Post as saying, “On interrogation, the suspect (pastor) claimed that he was just performing spiritual healing on the young girl to enable her attain academic prowess.”
The Police said they didn’t buy the Pastor’s story, hence he has been held in Police custody pending further investigations into the matter.
