A man was arrested on charges of murder after killing his wife and his sister-in-law, prosecutors in Wisconsin said.
Now, a jury has found 40-year-old Andrew Steele not guilty due to his mental disease.
Meanwhile, Steele will remain at the Rock County Jail until that decision is made. According to the police investigation, Steele claimed to have had a sexual relationship with his sister-in-law and wife.
Police found a note, which states that when Kacee and Ashlee learned of his ALS diagnosis, they proposed a suicide pact. The women wanted to jump off a cruise ship together or die by carbon monoxide poisoning inside a car.
The letter was last edited on Steele’s phone just hours before the killings. About seven hours later, Kacee called police, saying that she and her sisters had been shot.
