The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin could not win his local government for his party in the presidential election that was held last Saturday.

The breakdown of the results showed that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari scored 12,291 votes while President Goodluck Jonathan polled 7,175‎ votes.

It is the same local government that the Minister of State, FCT, Oloye Jumoke Akinjide comes from.

The low score of the party could be attributed to the crisis that led to the defection of many chieftains of the party.

Among those that left the party after Senator Folarin was declared winner of the primary are the former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, who is now the governorship candidate of Labour Party and Engr. Seyi Makinde‎ who is the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the state.
