Not less than N1b must have been generated at the last edition of Lagos Countdown, the music festival
organised by the Lagos State Government as part of the tourism drive of the government.
The event, which holds yearly to mark the end of every year in style at the Bar Beach stretch in Victoria Island, Lagos, is among the leading tourism initiatives in Africa.
Disclosing this during a press conference held in Lagos on Monday as part of the build up to the event today, Managing Director of the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA), George Kayode Noah, however said the figure is not the money that accrues into government’s coffers.
He added that the estimation is for the trading activities and other trade related efforts that went on during the last edition of the annual concert including monetary transactions between advertisers, lawyers, agencies, traders, transporters and the rest
