1. Chioma Ajunwa
Chioma Ajunwa-Opara, better known as Chioma Ajunwa, is a Nigerian former athlete who specialised in the long jump. She was born in 1970. After various setbacks in her career she reached fame when she became the first athlete in Nigeria to win an Olympic gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and up to now stays Nigeria’s only individual Olympic gold medalist.
2. Jolly Nyame
The Governor of Taraba State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007 Jolly Nyame also was born on Christmas day, 59 years ago. He also served as governor of the state from January 1992 to November 1993. Now Nyame is a member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
3. Emmanuel Amuneke
Emmanuel Amuneke, aged 44, is a retired Nigerian footballer. He played for the Super Eagles and was part of the team that played in the 1994 World Cup. He is current Golden Eaglets’ Head coach.
4. Ogenyi Onazi
Nigeria football star Ogenyi Eddy Onazi turns 22 today. He plays as a central midfielder for Serie A club Lazio and the Nigeria national football team.
5. Nduka Ozokwo
26-year-old Nduka Morrisson Ozokwo is the son of the popular actress Patience Ozokwo (alias Mama G). He is a Nigerian footballer, who plays for Mersin İdmanyurdu, a Turkish top division team.
